The Loudon County Planning and Codes Enforcement Department provides planning, zoning and building code inspection services for Loudon County, the City of Greenback and the City of Philadelphia. Planning and zoning services are also provided for the City of Loudon, while building code inspections and enforcement are provided by the Building Official for the City of Loudon. Each governmental unit appoints members to the planning commissions, with the exception of Philadelphia (which is served by the City of Loudon) and Greenback (which is served by Loudon County).

   Two Regional Planning Commissions are served through this department.  They are the Loudon County Regional Planning Commission, and the City of Loudon Regional Planning Commission.
